چکیده

Abstract Geological structures identification using conventional optical remote sensing encountered some problems due to atmospheric and surface conditions. Therefore, we exploited the Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) in Ascending Descending orbits characterize lineaments related geological structures. We have analyzed two images from Phased Array type L-band (PALSAR) onboard Advanced Land Observing Satellite (ALOS). The adjustment of their resolution multilooking process was applied obtain best understanding between detected lineament reference fault. cross-polarized data ALOS PALSAR level SLC were multilooked with variation 15 120 m. Obtaining optimum lineament-related faults, which Yamaguchi criterion extract visually images. Based on lineaments, stress regimes, verifications, it concluded image m describe presence regional interpreted

Frozen Ground Monitoring Using Palsar/alos Data

Microwave remote sensing has shown proof of its effectiveness for frozen ground mapping due to the high difference of permittivity between frozen and unfrozen soil. However, the characterization of seasonal frozen ground still remains a problematic application. The Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) launched the Advanced Land Observing Satellite (ALOS) on the 24 of January 2006. This sat...

Swell parameters retrieval using ALOS/PALSAR data and its application

We have developed retrieval methods for swell parameters such as wave height, wavelength, and wave propagation direction from images of PALSAR on board ALOS taken over coastal seas around Japan. The retrieval methods for wavelength and wave direction use the PALSAR image spectrum. The SAR image spectrum has an inherent 180 o direction ambiguity, which can be solved using the fact that the swell...

Radar Interferometry for Ground Subsidence Monitoring Using Alos Palsar Data

This paper describes the results using data from ALOS and ENVISAT satellites for the purpose of subsidence monitoring over underground coal mine sites in the state of New South Wales, Australia, using the differential interferometric synthetic aperture radar (DInSAR) technique. The quality of the mine subsidence monitoring results is mainly constrained by the noise due to the spatial and tempor...
